We are incredibly fortunate to live in a state that generations of Granite Staters worked to build. New Hampshire is consistently among the safest, freest, and best places to live in America. That did not happen by accident. It is the product of generations of people who built communities, raised families, started businesses, served their neighbors, and maintained a deep tradition of independence and self-government.
I live in Rochester with my wife and our daughter, and I run a small business here in New Hampshire. Owning a business has given me a firsthand appreciation for the people who take risks, create jobs, serve customers, and make our communities stronger. Being a husband and father has also made me think much more seriously about the kind of state we are going to leave to our children.
As I've learned more about my own family's history in New Hampshire, stretching back to 1623, I've found myself thinking more about what one generation owes the next.
What One Generation Owes The Next

I'm grateful for what earlier generations handed down to us, but I'm just as grateful for the people who carry those traditions forward today. The families raising children here, the small business owners, tradesmen, teachers, first responders, volunteers, and neighbors are the people who keep New Hampshire strong.
That is a big part of why I'm running for State Representative. I believe our responsibility is to be good stewards of what we have inherited, to protect what works, fix what doesn't, and leave an even stronger New Hampshire to the generations that follow us.
I would be honored to represent the people of Rochester in Concord and to work to keep New Hampshire a place where families can build a life, businesses can succeed, and the next generation has every reason to want to stay.
What He'll Fight For
School Choice
James Higginbottom will fight to expand and strengthen New Hampshire's Education Freedom Accounts so that more Rochester families can direct their tax dollars to the school setting that works best for their child, whether that's a private school, home education, or a different public school. He will oppose any effort to cap or restrict EFA eligibility, ensuring that working families in Strafford County who are already stretched thin by some of the highest property taxes in the state have real options beyond their assigned district school. When education dollars follow the student, Rochester kids stop being trapped by their zip code.
Lower Taxes
Committed to lower taxes and disciplined spending. New Hampshire's Advantage — no income tax, no sales tax — is the reason families and employers choose this state, and it must be defended without exception. That means holding the line on state spending, rejecting new broad-based taxes, and pressing for property tax relief so that seniors and working families in Rochester can afford to stay in the homes they've worked their whole lives to keep.
Housing & Cost of Living
New Hampshire should remain a place where young families can afford to put down roots. I will support policies that increase housing opportunities, reduce unnecessary regulations, and address the rising cost of living without raising taxes.
